Percussion is a triangle shaped scarf knit in garter stitch with a lace hole edging.

Needle & Notion Requirements

  • 4.5mm 32-40" circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle

Gauge

19 sts x 46 rows = 4" (10cm) in garter stitch on 4.5mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge, after blocking

Yarn Requirements

You will need 1 ball of either Yarnalia Wooly or Cascade Pacific (100g/200m), 2 balls of Drops Merino Extra Fine (50g/110m), or 3 balls of Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt (50g/91m).

Or, 185m of DK or worsted weight yarn.

Sizing & Fit

The Percussion scarf is one size with the following measurements:

Approximately 45” long and 9” wide.

Casting On & Set Up Rows

Cast on 4 sts onto 4.5mm circular needles (32-40”).

Knit 1 row.

Lace-Hole Set-Up Row: K2, YO, K2.

Increases

Increase Row: K2, YO, knit until 2 sts remain, YO, K2.

Repeat this increase row a total of 92 times, or until you have 189 sts on your needles.

A total of 184 sts have been increased.

Final Edging

Row 1 (Lace Hole Row): K2, *YO, K2* until 2 sts remain, YO, K2.

Row 2 (Moss Stitch): K2, *P1, K2tog* until 2 sts remain, P1, K2.

Row 3 (Moss Stitch): K2, *P1, K1* until 3 sts remain, P1, K2.

Cast off using method of choice.
