About Me

Welcome to Good Grief Yarn & Provisions!

About the Owner

Hey there, fellow yarn enthusiast! I'm Mariah, the heart and hands behind this cozy corner we call Good Grief Yarn & Provisions. Let me take you on a little journey into the world of knits, purls, and everything yarn.

A Childhood Hobby Turned Passion:

My love affair with yarn began at my mother's side when I was just a little girl. Those early knitting lessons sparked a flame that flickered throughout my adolescence. From crafting cup cozies and selling them in the local coffee shop in my quaint hometown of Port Perry, Ontario, I couldn't resist the allure of turning yarn into something magical.

Dreams Woven into Reality:

Fast forward to today, and here we are! Good Grief Yarn & Provisions is a dream come true. What makes us unique? It's all about the yarn. We're breaking the mold by offering affordable synthetic yarns because, let's face it, passion for crafting knows no budget. But that's not all – we're also proud to showcase hand-dyed yarns from local Ontario artisans. These are the threads that make our shop a tapestry of textures and colours you won't find elsewhere in Toronto.

Creating a Cozy Haven:

Step into our little haven, where the vibe is as warm as your favourite hand-knit blanket. At Good Grief, everyone is not just welcome but embraced. Got a question, no matter how small? We're all ears. Eccentricity? It's our middle name! And yes, the shop isn't accessible, but that won't stop us. We'll bring the yarn to you if needed, ensuring that everyone can experience the joy of crafting.

Affordable, Unique, and Welcoming:

Our values are simple yet profound. We believe in making the art of yarn accessible to all. Affordability, uniqueness, and an inviting atmosphere are the stitches that bind our little community.

Celebrating Milestones:

We will be celebrating our two-year anniversary on December 3, 2024, and I can't help but reflect on the incredible journey. It's been a rollercoaster, but the support from our amazing customers has kept us knitting through every twist and turn. Your smiles, your projects, and your stories are what make Good Grief more than just a shop—it's a community.

Here's to many more years of yarn adventures together!

See you soon,

Mariah.
