Intro to Knitting Workshop - Starting Jan 27th from 6-8PM
What?
In this 3-class series, we will be introducing you to the very basics of knitting. This workshop is perfect for those who have never knit, or who need an in-depth refresher after a long time away from the craft. All materials are included in the workshop price, and you will select the colour of your yarn when you arrive for the first lesson.
Across the three classes, we will cover the techniques to work a small project start to finish, such as:
- Casting on
- Working the knit stitch
- Working the purl stitch
- Identifying different stitch patterns (stockinette, garter, and ribbing)
- Fixing basic mistakes
- Casting off
- Weaving in your ends
In our time together, we will work on making a small cotton washcloth, which you will complete at the end of the third class. The pattern (instructions) for how to knit the washcloth will be provided to you to take home, so that you can keep practicing with this project once graduating from our beginner workshop.
