Job Title: Sales Clerk & Instructor

The Opportunity:

Join our vibrant team at Good Grief Yarn & Provisions! We're seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sales Clerk & Instructor to share the joy of knitting and crochet with our community. If you have a deep love for yarn crafts, excellent retail experience, and a knack for teaching, we want to hear from you! This role combines providing exceptional customer service with leading one-on-one and small group knitting and crochet lessons.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer exceptional customer service and process sales.
  • Instruct one-on-one and group knitting/crochet lessons.
  • Maintain shop organization and inventory.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.

Required Skills:

  • Knitting and Crochet Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in both knitting and crochet is essential.
  • Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching knitting and crochet in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Retail Experience: Previous retail experience is beneficial.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Friendly, helpful, and professional interaction with customers.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain an organized workspace.  
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in sales transactions and inventory management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy items, stand for extended periods, navigate stairs, and reach/bend.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and basic software.

Work Hours:

  • Must be available Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Additional hours may be required, especially during peak seasons or events.

Wage:

  • Ontario minimum wage ($17.20/hour) for sales clerk position and private lessons.
  • $25.80/hour for group lessons.
